2008 District Championship

District 4 Championship Formula

The championship in each class is awarded on an earned-points basis, with eligible pilots (more on this later) earning points based on their finishing position at contests throughout the season. There is an incentive to attend a fair number of contests; you can’t just show up at the finals and take home the trophy. This year we currently have 8 contests scheduled in D4. Based on this number of contests, the formula for accumulating championship points is as follows:

1st place = 9 + 1 point for each person you finish above

2nd place = 7 + 1 point for each person you finish above

3rd place = 5 + 1 point for each person you finish above

4th place = 3 + 1 point for each person you finish above

5th place = 1 + 1 point for each person you finish above

6th and beyond: 1 point for each person you finish above

Total is the sum of your best 4 contests plus the doubled District Finals score.

One out of district contest can be counted towards your best 4.

You must be a current NSRCA member for your earned points to count towards a District Championship, even though you can still win the individual contest. Notice: as long as you join the NSRCA before the conclusion of the District Finals, you will be eligible for the Championship Title.

Also, for your points to count, the contest must be an AMA or MAAC sanctioned precision aerobatics contest. Check with the Contest Director and make sure the contest is properly sanctioned.
