Signal Seekers Contest Results

With a never ending line of big lumbering wide bodies heading into Detroit Metro, gear down, flaps hanging out there in the wind, providing the background, the Signal Seekers of Westland, MI, put on a great contest for D4.

I'm not sure why the attendance was down for this contest.  Maybe it's the unique entrance to the field, but I doubt it, it adds a flavor to the site few fields share.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous.  Light winds, clear skies, and pleasant temps greeted 11 pilots for the entire weekend.  Early morning entertainment was provided by Signal Seeker members flying their control line stunt planes.  Utilizing the single flight line, four leisurely rounds were finished by late Saturday afternoon, and two more along with the awards presentation occurred Sunday.  This worked out great.  Everyone judged, yet, you weren't in the judges chair for long hours.  Signal Seeker members acted as scribes, line boss, and CD Bob Kane did the score keeping as well as flying the masters class.

Verne Koester and Steve Maxwell debuted they're new electric models.  Steve's being a Panacea from PAC Models and Verne's Partner from PL Products.  Both utilized Hacker motors, Steve's the C5014XL with Jeti Controller and Verne's with the C50 competition motor and controller.  Both models flew well with plenty of power.  You'll find extra pics of both below the results.  There were a total of four electrics in all.  All utilizing the Hacker setup.
