2005 District 4 Finals
         
This years Comair Contest was simply fantastic.  Except for a low ceiling Saturday morning causing a delay, the weather cooperated as well as it ever has and CD's Bob Pannell and Mark Atwood were able to get a full 5 rounds in before the rain came in Sunday afternoon.  32 pilots made the trip this year, although this year the D2 Finals contest was held the same weekend and kept a few of the D2 regulars from making the trip.  Apart from the great contest, this event also features a Saturday evening steak roast and night fly.  For less than $10 you get one select steak, baked potato, salad, roll, fixin's, and deserts.  After everything settled a bit, the cylume sticks came out and the night fly began.  I played DJ and put some music out for the flying, and those brave enough to try took a chance at the bomb drop, carrier landing, and other events.  There are other obstacles to overcome besides darkness, but you need to be there in person to appreciate it.  Put this one on your calendar for 2006.
